Sarcoidosis is a rare, complex disease, which can strike anywhere in the body but is found mostly in the lungs and lymph nodes. The immune cells form small lumps (known as granulomas) and can alter the way that the affected organ operates. Like most organs, your lungs play a vital role in your overall health and your body’s ability to function properly. And, like most organs, your lungs can also develop a variety of conditions that impact your health.
